Applebrook Golf Club

Applebrook sits near Malvern in Chester County's East Goshen Township, on land once part of Applebrook Farm, a property that traces to a 1702 William Penn deed. The club hired Gil Hanse in 1999, and the private course opened in 2001 as one of his earliest solo original designs. Hanse had only about four courses to his name at the time, and the founders took a chance on a then-unproven local architect. His team, including Jim Wagner and Bill Kittleman, hand-shaped the greens and bunkers. The course plays to a par of 71 over roughly 6,942 yards. Hanse, whose firm is based in Malvern, remains a member and calls Applebrook his home course. An indoor-outdoor performance center was added in 2018.
