The original course traces to a Bob Sierra design, and the layout was later reworked by Jack Nicklaus, whose redesigned course opened in 1989 and is listed among Nicklaus Design's portfolio. The result is a par-72 championship test stretching to roughly 7,000 yards from the back tees, with five sets of tees to accommodate a range of players.
