Bay Harbor - The Links

Bay Harbor Golf Club sits above Little Traverse Bay near Petoskey in northern Michigan, on land once occupied by a limestone quarry and cement plant that were reclaimed into a resort community. Architect Arthur Hills routed 27 holes across the dramatic site, opening The Links nine in 1996, with the Quarry and Preserve nines following in 1997. The Links plays along the Lake Michigan shoreline, with several holes perched atop bluffs that fall roughly 50 feet to the water, evoking the windswept feel of a seaside course. The adjoining Quarry nine threads through shale gorges, stone cliffs and ponds left by the old excavation. Combined, the Links and Quarry form one of the most photographed and acclaimed public routings in the Midwest, regularly appearing on national best-course lists. The panoramic bluff-top holes have made Bay Harbor a signature stop on Michigan's golf trail.
