About Bay Hill Club & Lodge - Charger Course

Bay Hill Club & Lodge was established in 1961, its original 18 holes (the Champion and Challenger nines) designed by Dick Wilson and built by Bob Simmons, who later added the Charger nine. Arnold Palmer first played Bay Hill in the 1960s, bought into the club and owned it from 1974 until his death in 2016; it is now run by his family. The Champion/Challenger course has hosted the PGA Tour's Arnold Palmer Invitational (originally the Bay Hill Classic) since 1979.
