Bear Lakes Country Club

Bear Lakes Country Club sits just west of downtown West Palm Beach, Florida, and is built around a pair of Jack Nicklaus Signature courses. The Lakes Course opened in 1984, followed by the Links Course in 1987, giving members 36 holes shaped by Nicklaus and his design team. As the names suggest, the two layouts contrast in character: the water-laced, target-style Lakes and the more open, mounded, Scottish-inspired Links. The Lakes Course was renovated by Nicklaus Design in 2003, and in the 2020s the Links underwent a major renovation led by Davis Love III's design group. Set among lakes and mature landscaping in Palm Beach County, the private club has long been regarded locally as a quiet, understated retreat rather than a tournament showpiece. Together the courses offer variety uncommon at a single Florida club, from demanding forced carries to firmer, ground-game tests.
