About Bow Creek Golf Course

Bow Creek is a City of Virginia Beach municipal course off Rosemont Road, just behind Lynnhaven Mall: a par-70 layout of narrow Bermuda fairways and bentgrass greens among mature oaks, credited to Fred Sappenfield. In the mid-1990s it closed for about nine months during the city's Plaza Drainage Project, which built a lake and drainage canals across the course to pull stormwater away from surrounding neighborhoods, changing how several holes play.
