About The Club of Staunton

The Club of Staunton traces its roots to the Staunton Country Club, a nine-hole course founded in 1910. Its current 18-hole layout, designed by William F. Gordon, opened in the late 1960s as the Country Club of Staunton; the club says it has served the community since 1966, while listings date the course to 1967 or 1968. Long private, it later operated as The Club at Ironwood before taking its current name. It is now a semi-private golf and recreation club just off Interstate 81, a par-71 course of 6,663 yards from the Blue tees.
