About Army Navy Country Club
Founded in 1924 by Army, Navy and Marine Corps officers seeking an affordable club near the capital, Army Navy Country Club broke ground on its Arlington, Virginia property in 1927, on land that had held Fort Richardson during the Civil War. The club's Arlington golf has passed through several hands over the decades: an early Herbert Strong routing eventually gave way to the parkland Blue Course widely attributed to golden-age architect William Flynn, later modernized by Brian Silva. Just minutes from Washington, D.C., the grounds have welcomed a remarkable membership, including figures such as Admiral Chester Nimitz, General Omar Bradley and several U.S. presidents. Today the Arlington campus offers 18-hole championship golf across rolling, tree-lined terrain overlooking the city, a rare blend of military heritage and classic design.
