Red Wing Lake is a City of Virginia Beach municipal course inside Red Wing Park, run by the city's Parks and Recreation department. It opened in 1971 on a George W. Cobb design. In the mid-2000s the city closed it for a roughly $5 million rebuild by the Kevin Tucker Design Group, repaid from golf receipts: every green was rebuilt in bentgrass, fairways were reworked for drainage, and new wetlands and lakes were added.
