About Braintree Municipal Golf Course

Braintree Municipal Golf Course began in 1930 when Archie C. Burnett bought a farm to build the Monatiquot Golf and Country Club, which opened as nine holes in 1932. The Town of Braintree purchased the property in 1955, and it was expanded to 18 holes by 1971, with architect Sam Mitchell designing eleven new holes and redesigning the others. It remains a popular, good-value municipal course in the Boston area.
