Buffalo Ridge Springs Golf Course

This Tom Fazio design first opened in 1999 as Branson Creek, a highly regarded public course in the Ozark hills. Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris acquired it in 2013 to expand the golf offerings at Big Cedar Lodge and Top of the Rock, then spent a year reworking it with Fazio, adding native landscaping, new water features, and expanded wildlife corridors. It reopened as Buffalo Ridge Springs, routed as two returning nines in a rough figure-eight. Its signature feature is a free-roaming bison herd connected to the nearby Dogwood Canyon Nature Park, which can be seen grazing near several fairways, a sight virtually unique in golf. The course has drawn national acclaim and, alongside Top of the Rock, served as a host venue for the PGA Tour Champions Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf.
