ChampionsGate Golf Club opened in 1999 as part of the ChampionsGate master-planned community near the I-4 corridor. It has two 18-hole Greg Norman courses -- the International and the National -- plus a 9-hole par-3 course and a David Leadbetter Golf Academy, both championship courses operational by 2000. The International is an inland-links design, remastered in 2016, that earned GOLF Magazine recognition in 2001 as a top new upscale course. The Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate opened in 2004.
