Eagleglen Golf Course Elmendorf Air Force Base

Eagleglen Golf Course was built in 1972 on what was then Elmendorf Air Force Base, today part of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., it grew into one of Alaska's most respected layouts, routed through corridors of birch and spruce with the Chugach Mountains framing the horizon. Though it sits on a military installation, the parkland course has long welcomed public play and earned a reputation for strong conditioning and classic strategic design, with tree-lined fairways and greens well protected by bunkering. Playing to a par of 72 at roughly 6,700 yards, it rewards accurate ball-striking over raw length. Like all golf in Southcentral Alaska, its season is short, but the extraordinarily long summer days give players room to savor a genuine Robert Trent Jones design at the top of the continent.
