Las Sendas Golf Club

Robert Trent Jones Jr. made his Arizona debut at Las Sendas, which opened for daily-fee play in February 1995 after a lengthy, financially troubled development that took roughly five years to complete. Carved into the Usery Mountains on the northeastern edge of Mesa, the layout threads between granite outcrops, arroyos and saguaro-studded desert, with elevation changes that open long views across the Valley. It earned an early reputation as one of the country's sterner tests, ranked among the toughest U.S. courses and a top-50 layout in national surveys, while a master-planned community grew around it. Today it remains an upscale, semi-private club known for conditioning and customer service, a target-golf design that rewards precise placement over raw length through the high Sonoran terrain.
