Firewheel Golf Park

Firewheel is owned and operated by the City of Garland. In 1981 city planners looked at overgrown north Garland farmland covered in wild firewheel flowers, which gave the complex its name. The Old Course opened in 1983, the Lakes Course followed in 1987, and the three-nine Bridges course opened in 2001, all attributed to architect Dick Phelps. It grew into the largest municipal golf complex in Texas, with 63 holes, and the Firewheel Town Center developed around it.
