Tenison Park Golf Course (Tenison Highlands)

Part of Dallas's historic Tenison Park complex, established in 1924 on land donated by banker E.O. Tenison and his wife as the city's first municipally owned golf grounds. The complex became legendary as a Texas hustlers' haunt where a young Lee Trevino honed his game before turning professional. The current Highlands course is a 2001 redesign by PGA Tour pro D.A. Weibring and architect Steve Wolfard, replacing an earlier layout first laid out by Jack Burke Sr. and Syd Cooper in 1925. Dallas's municipal courses, Tenison among them, were officially desegregated in 1954. Operated by Dallas Park & Recreation.
