About The Courses At Watters Creek

The facility opened in 1986 as Chase Oaks Golf Club, a 27-hole Robert von Hagge / Bruce Devlin design whose Blackjack course was named best public course in Texas by the Dallas Morning News in 1991. The City of Allen acquired it as its municipal course in 2004, even though the property sits at a Plano address. The city closed it in October 2011 for a $9 million-plus overhaul led by PGA Tour pro D.A. Weibring and architect Steve Wolfard, reopening in late 2012 as The Courses at Watters Creek, which today offers the 18-hole par-72 Traditions Course, the 9-hole par-30 Players Course and the 6-hole par-3 Futures Course.
