About Wichita Falls Country Club
Wichita Falls Country Club, founded in 1914, is a private club on roughly 240 acres along Holliday Creek. It traces to Scottish immigrant Fred Cooper, who formed the Wichita Falls Golf Club in 1914 with a nine-hole course; after Depression-era hardship, Solon Featherston bought the facility in 1935 and installed the first bent-grass greens in North Texas. The course was completely renovated and redesigned in 2008 by D.A. Weibring and Steve Wolfard; the par-72 layout plays 6,956 yards with bentgrass greens and a creek in play on more than half the holes.
