Grand Oaks Golf Club in Grand Prairie opened in 1972 as Grand Prairie Country Club, a design by PGA Tour player-turned-architect Don January. The par-71 layout stretches to roughly 6,950-7,000 yards from the back tees and winds through century-old oak trees with two creeks in play. Originally a private country club, it was later renamed Grand Oaks and now operates as a semi-private facility; a recent renovation expanded greens with false fronts and run-offs.
