About Gresham Golf Club
Gresham Golf Course was conceived by local builder Sam Wolsborn and his wife Peggy, who assembled berry farms in rural Gresham, about 12 miles east of Portland. Sam laid out the course with help from Eddie Hogan, head pro at Riverside, on the philosophy "Not so tough I can't have a good time." The first nine opened in 1965 with the pro shop in a trailer, and the second nine followed about 18 months later. It is a public, family-owned course, and the original nine holes remain part of today's layout.
