The Island Course at Kingwood Country Club (now The Clubs of Kingwood) opened in 1974 and is regarded as one of Joe Finger's finest designs. The private par-72, 7,253-yard layout earned national attention in its first year when the ASGCA named its 573-yard double-dogleg sixth hole "Hole of the Year."
