Jimmie Austin Ou Golf Club

The University of Oklahoma's home course traces its roots to native Oklahoman Perry Maxwell, the renowned architect commissioned in 1949 to build the layout, which opened for play in January 1951. The land itself carries earlier history, having served as a U.S. Navy recreational facility during the World War II era. In 1996, funded by OU supporters and led by benefactor and namesake Jimmie Austin, the club underwent an extensive renovation by acclaimed architect Robert 'Bob' Cupp, whose redesign stayed faithful to the strategic features Maxwell had envisioned decades earlier. The course was reworked again in 2017 by OU graduate and architect Tripp Davis, who relocated tees and greens, reshaped fairways, lengthened the layout, redesigned every bunker, and added a four-hole short course, further cementing its status as one of the country's elite collegiate venues.
