Kapolei Golf Club opened in 1995 on about 190 acres of former sugar plantation land on Oahu's Ewa Plain. Architect Ted Robinson, known for his use of water, built five lakes and about 80 bunkers into the layout. Kapolei has been a regular tour stop: it hosted the LPGA's Hawaiian Ladies Open from 1996 to 2001, the PGA Tour Champions' Pacific Links Championship from 2012 to 2014, and the LPGA LOTTE Championship in 2021.
