About Lake Hefner Golf Course
This City of Oklahoma City municipal facility on the shore of Lake Hefner traces to renowned architect Perry Maxwell, who submitted the sole bid on July 12, 1949, to design and build an 18-hole course; the front nine opened on May 30, 1951. The complex now offers 36 holes: the South Course carries the Maxwell/Floyd Farley heritage as the shorter layout, while the newer North Course was designed by Randy Heckenkemper and stretches to nearly 7,000 yards. The site also includes a three-hole academy course and a driving range.
