Lake St Catherine Country Club

Est. 1925
Why we love this place

Lake St. Catherine blends a 1925 nine with a 1990s expansion, so you get old-school small greens up front and big, rolling ones later on. The hills make it play longer than the card says, and the lake-country setting makes every summer round feel like vacation.

About Lake St Catherine Country Club

Lake St. Catherine Country Club was established in 1925 as a nine-hole course known simply as "The Lake," near the lake of the same name outside Poultney in western Rutland County. For roughly seven decades it remained a nine-hole club, and golfers today still play the first four holes of that original layout. In the mid-1990s the course was expanded to a full 18 holes, and the newer holes brought larger, more undulating greens that contrast with the older, smaller targets. The course measures about 6,200 yards, but its elevation changes make it play closer to 6,600. The club, on Route 30 south of Poultney village, offers public tee times, memberships, tournaments and outings through the season, and posts tournament entry forms and upcoming events on its website.
