Jay Peak Resort Golf Course

Est. 2006 · Graham Cooke
Why we love this place

Jay Peak is big-mountain golf on a grand scale: Graham Cooke routed the front nine down a brook valley and the back nine up into the West Bowl, with long views toward Canada. Bring your best ball-striking and a camera, because both get a workout.

About Jay Peak Resort Golf Course

Jay Peak's championship course was designed by Montreal architect Graham Cooke and built at the base of the ski resort, a few miles from the Canadian border. The front nine opened in June 2006, running east of the base area and down the valley across Jay Branch Brook, and the back nine followed in spring 2007, climbing into the resort's West Bowl. The par-72 layout stretches to 6,874 yards from the tips, with about 700 feet of elevation change, 72 bunkers and 13 water hazards, and tee options let it play anywhere from roughly 5,000 yards to nearly 7,000. A granite outcrop beside the 15th hole is a local favorite, and wind and elevation matter as much as yardage. In 2011 Golfweek listed it as the best public course in Vermont, and the resort marked the course's tenth season in 2016.
