Est. 1983 · Xenophon Wheeler
Why we love this place

West Bolton is family-built golf tucked into the hills outside Jericho: a hilly par 72 that the Wheelers have run since 1983. It is quiet, unpretentious and scenic, the kind of place where the round feels like a walk in the Vermont woods.

About West Bolton Country Club

West Bolton Golf Club opened in 1983 on Nashville Road, northeast of Burlington, with Xenophon "Xen" Wheeler credited as its designer. Course listings place it in Jericho, while its name comes from neighboring West Bolton. The Wheeler family has owned and operated the club since it opened. According to its community listing, the first nine holes were built in 1983 and a second nine followed in 1985, completing the 18-hole layout. The course plays to par 72 at about 5,937 yards from the back tees, a modest length for a full 18, and it is open to the public for daily-fee play. Hours, rates and tee sets have changed over the years, so golfers are best served checking with the club before a visit. More than four decades on, the Wheeler family still runs it.
