About Linville Land Harbor Golf Club

Carolina Caribbean Corporation broke ground in 1969 on a nine-hole course in the Land Harbor community near Newland (Linville mailing address), designed by Tom Jackson; the front nine opened in 1972. Longtime superintendent Ernie Hayes designed and built the back nine, completed in 1982, creating the 18-hole layout. A short par-69 of about 4,877 yards, it was ranked among Golf Digest's Top 25 Short Courses in the U.S. It began as a resident-community course and is now open to the public.
