Manasquan River Golf Club

Manasquan River Golf Club traces to September 1922, when Brielle pioneer Howard N. Folk filed the club's first corporate papers in Monmouth County. The founders secured 150 acres of farmland and rolling hills, including some 1,800 feet of frontage along the Manasquan River. Robert White, a Scottish-born architect who was the first president of the PGA of America, laid out the opening nine so it would be ready for play by May 30, 1923. A second nine followed in 1926, threading through elevated woodlands and laurel-lined ravines overlooking the water. More than a century on, the club endures as a private eighteen-hole retreat, prized for its mature trees, river vistas and the quiet character of a course that predates most of its neighbors.
