Berkleigh was established in 1926, and Robert White is listed as its architect. The club was founded by residents of Berks and Lehigh counties, which gave it the name Berkleigh. It was a private club for decades and has been a public facility since 2007. It hosted the LPGA's Betsy King Classic for many years.
