Mayfield Sand Ridge Club - Sand Ridge

Sand Ridge Golf Club, part of the Mayfield Sand Ridge Club, opened in 1998 on a 370-acre spread near Chardon, east of Cleveland, and holds the distinction of being Tom Fazio's first design in Ohio. Routed through five wetlands and rolling, wooded terrain, the par-72 course plays past 7,100 yards and rewards accuracy while offering panoramic views across Geauga County. It became one of the first courses in Ohio to earn Audubon International Signature Sanctuary status, a reflection of the environmental care built into its construction. The layout drew national attention soon after opening, climbing into Golf Digest's rankings of America's top courses in the mid-2000s. Later joined with the historic Mayfield Country Club, Sand Ridge remains one of the Cleveland area's most admired private tests.
