Est. 1999 · Buddy Johnson
Why we love this place
A wind-swept, links-style eighteen in the middle of Long Island, where the breeze matters as much as the yardage. We love Mill Pond for its open Scottish feel, its approachable length and a farmland-to-fairways story that keeps public golf thriving in Medford.

About Mill Pond Golf Course
Mill Pond Golf Course opened in 1999 on former flat farmland near Mill Road in Medford, in central Suffolk County. Buddy Johnson laid out three nine-hole courses, the North, West and East, and for a brief period in the early 2000s the facility operated as a 27-hole complex. By 2006 Mill Pond had closed and abandoned the East nine, and it has since operated as an eighteen-hole public course, at one point breaking in a new configuration in which the former 10th became the opening hole. The wide-open, wind-swept layout is presented in a links style reminiscent of classic Scottish courses and plays a pitch short of 6,000 yards from the middle tees. A driving range, putting green, teaching professional and clubhouse grill round out the facility.
