Why we love this place

Mt. Anthony has been hosting Vermont's best since 1905, and its renovated bunkers and tees have it looking sharp again. Tucked into historic Old Bennington with the Green Mountains all around, it is a public course with a genuine championship past.

About Mt Anthony Country Club

Mt. Anthony Country Club was established in 1897 in the heart of historic Old Bennington, and it calls itself Vermont's oldest public country club. The course was an early fixture of state golf: it hosted the Vermont Amateur in 1905, only the fourth year of the championship, and returned as host in 1909, 1910, 1915, 1919 and 1923, and again in 1972, 1984 and 2005. After new ownership and management arrived in 2007, the club undertook a major renovation directed by golf course architect A. John Harvey of the RBA Group, reshaping bunkers and tee complexes and starting an ongoing agronomic program for fairways and greens; the clubhouse Grille was renovated as well. The Vermont Women's Amateur came to Mt. Anthony in 2023. The club remains open to the public, with a PGA staff, outings and a busy tournament calendar.
