About Patriots Point Links
Patriots Point Links is a public, daily-fee course on the edge of Charleston Harbor in Mount Pleasant, laid out by Willard Byrd and opened in 1979. Set at the foot of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, the par-72 links-style layout serves up sweeping views of the Charleston skyline, Fort Sumter, Shem Creek, and harbor traffic arriving from around the world. LPGA great Annika Sorenstam led a 2009 renovation that rebuilt greens, bunkers, and tees with the aim of challenging players of every level equally. The signature short par-3 17th plays to a green perched at the water's edge, often into shifting harbor wind. The National Golf Course Owners Association named it South Carolina Course of the Year for 2001.
