About Plainfield Country Club

Plainfield traces to 1890 and opened its Donald Ross–designed course, a celebrated "Ross gem," in 1921. It hosted the 1978 U.S. Amateur and the 1987 U.S. Women's Open (Laura Davies, in a playoff), and more recently PGA Tour playoff events in 2011 and 2015. A Gil Hanse restoration renewed the Ross design around 2015.
