About Rockport Golf Club

Rockport Golf Club (originally Rockport Country Club) on Cape Ann was established December 11, 1913 and incorporated January 2, 1914 through the efforts of local businessmen and summer residents on former Lane and Smith family farmland. The nine-hole layout was designed by Essex County professional Eugene Wogan, and an elevated clubhouse overlooks the holes and Sandy Bay. Membership peaked above 225 in the 1920s, fell to about 40 during the Depression, and was saved via reorganization; it operates today as a nine-hole semi-private club.
