About Sawgrass Country Club - South/East Course
Sawgrass Country Club is the original, member-owned Sawgrass club in Ponte Vedra Beach (ground broken 1972, founded 1974), distinct from the later TPC Sawgrass. Its original 18 (East and West nines) was designed by Ed Seay of Arnold Palmer's firm, and the club hosted the PGA Tour's Tournament Players Championship from 1977 through 1981 before the event moved to TPC Sawgrass in 1982. A South nine by Robert Walker opened in 2015, giving 27 holes; this row is the South/East pairing.
