About Sedgefield Country Club, Dye Course

The Dye Course is a Pete Dye design originally built in 1974 as The Cardinal Golf & Country Club, distinct from Sedgefield's main Donald Ross course (host of the PGA Tour's Wyndham Championship). McConnell Golf bought the Cardinal in 2006, invested roughly five million dollars and brought Dye back to restore his design, then merged it with Sedgefield Country Club in 2013. The par-70 Dye layout, with crowned greens and a par-3 12th Dye called the hardest he ever designed, has since reverted to semi-private operation as "The Cardinal by Pete Dye."
