Carmel Valley Ranch Golf Course

Carmel Valley Ranch holds a distinction on the Monterey Peninsula as the region's only course designed by the legendary Pete Dye, who built it with Gene Bates and opened it for play in 1981. The par-70 layout climbs and tumbles through the hills above Carmel Valley, with a front nine threading tight fairways along the Carmel River and a back nine soaring hundreds of feet above the valley floor among knolls of national-forest terrain. Dye's hallmarks are everywhere: raised and sunken greens, demanding club selection, and dramatic elevated tee shots. Over the years the resort invested in a multi-million-dollar restoration that returned the course toward Dye's original intent, rebuilding tees, enlarging greens, and resurfacing to modern bentgrass, preserving the shot-making challenge that has defined the property for decades.
