About Calabasas Golf and Country Club
Calabasas Country Club, originally Calabasas Park Country Club, opened in 1968 as the anchor of the new Calabasas Park development in the hills west of Los Angeles. The land was once part of Warner Ranch, a sprawling Warner Brothers Studios property used for filming outdoor scenes from 1935 until 1959; the historic ranch stables still stand between the eleventh and fifteenth holes. Legendary architect Robert Trent Jones designed the eighteen-hole championship course, and photographs from the era show him inspecting the ground as it took shape. In a nod to the site's cinematic past, each hole carries the name of a movie filmed nearby. The private club today plays to a par of 72 across a compact, tree-lined layout and rounds out its practice range, short-game area, and performance center with dining and fitness amenities.
