The Cliffs Resort

The Cliffs is a dramatic championship course perched above Possum Kingdom Lake in Graford, west of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and the centerpiece of Double Diamond Resorts' roughly 1,200-acre lakeside community. It was built in the 1980s by the celebrated design partnership of Australian tour player Bruce Devlin and architect Robert von Hagge, who leaned into the largely untouched terrain rather than forcing it. The result is one of Texas's most scenic tests: narrow, tree-lined fairways thread between massive rock outcroppings and steep canyon walls, with dramatic elevation changes of around 100 feet and holes that play toward the water. Long regarded among the state's most spectacular layouts, the par-71 course rewards precise, thoughtful golf and offers views that set it apart from the flatter tracks common across much of Texas.
