About Country Club of Miami
Founded in 1961, the Country Club of Miami has two 18-hole courses designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. -- the West (1961) and East (1962) -- with Arnold Palmer serving as its first head professional. Once a private club with celebrity members such as Jackie Gleason, and the site of Lee Trevino's 1970 National Airlines Open win, it is now a 36-hole Miami-Dade County-owned public facility.
