Tyoga Country Club was formed after World War I. Wellsboro men, joined by about 25 to 30 men from Mansfield, built it on a farm just west of Wellsboro, using the farmhouse as the clubhouse. A 1977 redesign by architect Edmund Ault expanded the course from nine to 18 holes, and in the early 1980s the club opened its golf and restaurant to the public. Members later voted to dissolve the club and transfer its assets to the nonprofit Growth Resources of Wellsboro Foundation (GROW).
