Valley of the Eagles sits on the grounds of the old Spring Valley Golf Club, which operated in Elyria from 1926 to 2013. New owners bought the property in 2014 and brought in Jack Nicklaus Design, which kept about half of the old hole corridors in a full rebuild. After financing delays it opened to the public in August 2018 as Northern Ohio's only Nicklaus Design daily-fee course.
