About Wedgefield Country Club

Wedgefield became a separate Black River rice plantation in 1762; Vanderbilt heir Robert Goelet later built its Georgian manor house. The land was bought in 1970 for a country-club subdivision, and Porter Gibson and Bob Toski's water-heavy par-72 course opened in 1973.
