About Wetlands Golf Course

The Wetlands is Lafayette's newest municipal course, opened in April 2006 after voters approved it as part of a 1997 city bond issue. Architect Frank Burandt, an LSU graduate who trained with the Jack Nicklaus design group, routed the 198-acre layout around the area's lakes and wetlands. It stretches to 7,293 yards, hosts the Lafayette City Championship and high school state events, and is part of Louisiana's Audubon Golf Trail.
