Contraband Bayou is the course at L'Auberge Casino Resort in Lake Charles, a Tom Fazio design and the only public Fazio course in Louisiana. Its grand opening was set for August 2005, when Hurricane Katrina struck; a second opening planned for September was wiped out by Hurricane Rita, which flooded the course and felled hundreds of trees. It recovered, and in 2010 the resort rebuilt the greens with ultradwarf Bermuda grass and rerouted the layout so the first hole starts in front of the clubhouse. It plays 7,077 yards at par 71.
