Woodbury is hilltop par-3 golf at its friendliest: nine short holes at 1,500 feet, no tee times needed and kids play free with an adult. Aim for the sixth, where most of the aces happen, and you might make the Wall of Fame.
Woodbury Golf Course is a nine-hole, par-3 course set high on East Hill Road in South Woodbury, at about 1,500 feet of elevation and roughly 30 minutes from Montpelier off Route 14. The holes range from the 116-yard sixth, the shortest on the course and the one that produces the most holes-in-one, to the 185-yard fourth, the longest. Greens are bentgrass, tee times are not required, and walking rates are kept low, with discounted weekday play for seniors and free golf for children 13 and under with a paying adult. The club celebrates its aces on a "Wall of Fame" and runs a schedule of tournaments that local businesses and groups can sponsor. Players can buy nine or 18 holes, walking or with a gas cart, and the club takes calls or texts for questions.
