Perched high above Lake Travis, Lakeside serves up the kind of views that make a round feel like a getaway. We love Palmer's par-three 11th and the way the water follows you around the property. It's a little off the beaten path, and that's exactly why we treasure it.

About Barton Creek Lakeside Country Club
Barton Creek Lakeside sits on a hillside above Lake Travis in Spicewood, roughly a half-hour west of the main Barton Creek resort. The 18-hole course opened in 1986 to a design credited to Arnold Palmer and his longtime design partner Ed Seay, whose routing takes advantage of the rolling shoreline terrain and sweeping water views. Playing to a par of 71, the layout combines generous fairways with numerous water hazards and well-conditioned greens. Its par-three 11th, perched dramatically above the lake, is regularly named among the most beautiful holes in Texas and serves as the course's signature moment. Now operated within the Omni Barton Creek family of clubs, the Palmer-designed Lakeside course has undergone restoration work guided by the Palmer group to return it toward its original design intent.
