Bay Pointe Country Club in the Onset/Buzzards Bay section of Wareham opened in 1964 as Wareham Country Club, designed by Geoffrey Cornish. In 1988 it underwent a major renovation that included building its signature island-green 7th hole, and it was renamed Bay Pointe. A further multi-million-dollar renovation followed a 2012 ownership change, clearing hundreds of trees to restore the fairways. It is a public daily-fee course.
